Outstanding October Newsletter

Welcome everyone to October’s newsletter. Last month we welcomed two new members to our club, Debi Thomson and Toni Hunt whom you can all read about a bit further down. Well done to Anna Hornby who was our MC at September’s dinner meeting what a fantastic job she did. Thank you to Rebecca Treeby and Glenny Lewis for speaking, what very different and amazing journeys you have both had. It was wonderful to hear from two of our newer members and a big thank you to Maree Tong Millinery for sponsoring.

Anita and Anna worked hard on organizing our Meet the Candidates night which was a huge success with over a 180 people attending. Thank you to the whole team who made the night run smooth, our time keepers Vivien and Tara, our MC Anita and Anna, Helen manned the front desk and kept track of the candidates and thank you to our photographer Marissa, you can find the photos Marissa took on our website in the gallery. https://www.bpwhawera.org.nz/meet-the-candidates-september-2019gallery-125574.html

Our Education Scholarship is closing this month so please get your applications in before the 20th. Our closed facebook page has been created so that you can all share events and ideas with each other, a great way to network between meetings so please accept your invite to the page when you receive it.
Thank you to everyone for approving the payment for Vivien’s registration fees to the Asia-Pacific Symposium. We will be awarding Vivien her sponsorship at October’s dinner meeting.
 
This month is our club’s AGM and you have all been sent Nomination Forms, please send these back before the AGM if you wish to nominate someone. The reports will be sent out to you soon so that you can read them before the meeting. Our guest speaker this month is Jacq Dwyer who will be telling us about the book Salutary Punishment and our theme for the night is ‘Octoberfest’ so come in costume if you wish.
