Welcome everyone to July’s newsletter; Candle Lighting in June was a great success with one of our founding members Heather Roberts-Thomson joining us. You can find the photo's taken at Candle Lighting on our website in the gallery. A big thank you to Vivien for sharing information with us on her role as the YBPW Asia- Pacific representative.
Congratulations to Andrea Rowe who is now the Issues Taskforce Chair for BPWNZ, we know you will be great in this role. Our Southern Regional Meeting was on the 29thof June in Gisborne where we talked a lot about what the meaning of BPW is, had workshop groups and went over resolutions and projects. Sheryl and I had a great time networking with our BPW sisters and we highly encourage you all to attend next year. July’s Dinner meeting will be a bit different with our guest speaker being the Hon Tracey Martin; Minster for Children, Internal Affairs and Seniors. Tracey will be speaking about her personal journey as a woman in politics, her views on leadership and gender equality in a male dominated field. This dinner will be $40.00 per person and there will be spot prizes throughout the night. You will all receive a separate dinner invite which has payment details on it, we ask that for this dinner that you RSVP like normal but we encourage you to make your payment for dinner via internet banking please. Ensure you send us your guest’s names and that they have also paid for their meal. Bring cash on the night for the raffle please. Our Education Scholarship is now open and you can find all the details on our website: https://www.bpwhawera.org.nz/scholarship.html Our August dinner meeting is organized and run by YBPW, our club’s YBPW convener is Andrea Rowe and she has a great night planned for us all.
