Dazzling December Newsletter

Season’s greetings to you all and welcome to December’s newsletter.
Last month we heard from Candace Hipp who was last year’s scholarship recipient and she has done really well with her accountancy studies. Congratulations to Jess Sklenars who is this year’s Women’s Education Scholarship recipient.
Andrea Rowe presented an Environment Resolution on; ‘Life Below Water’ and Anna Hornby presented a Health Resolution on, ‘Dementia’. Both were supported by the club and have now gone to BPWNZ for review.
We had two wonderful speakers, Celine Filbee and Diana Reid who shared their journey and experiences in local politics, thank you to Obertech for sponsoring our guests.  

The BPWNZ National Conference for 2020 is now open for registrations, if you are interested in going then please let us know. The details are 2nd – 3rd of May 2020 in Auckland at Jet Park Hotel.
Our club is hosting the 2021 National Conference and our sub-committee for this has had its first meeting, so it is all very exciting.  
 
This month we will hear from Vivien who attended the Young BPW Asia-Pacific Symposium in Japan where she gave a presentation.
December’s dinner meeting is focused on having fun! So this month bring your Husband, partners etc and enjoy our Gatsby themed Christmas Dinner. Dress up is optional but always lots of fun. We are having a $20.00 voucher exchange this year so if you want to participate then bring your wrapped gift voucher for under the Christmas Tree and support our local businesses, you can also offer a voucher for your time e.g  ‘I will mow your lawn’ voucher etc.
We are supporting the Hawera Food Bank this year so if you would like to bring a grocery item to donate that would be wonderful. We will have a member from the food bank enjoying our night with us and we will present our grocery hamper to them.
After our amazing Christmas Dinner we have a Quiz Master joining us which will be fantastic fun with prizes to be won.

We don’t have a dinner meeting in January but please network with each other through our club facebook page and please feel free to email your club executive anytime.
