Marissa's Message Tēnā koutou katoa, Welcome back to another awesome year for BPW. It was great to see so many people at our Christmas Party and we hope everyone enjoyed the change up with the grazing station and cocktails. We also hope you all had a fantastic Christmas and New Year and are coping with the heat and humidity that seems to be much more than the last few years. Our executive met at the end of January for a planning meeting for the year and we are super excited at all that is planned for BPW Hawera. We asked people at the December meeting what you would all like more of or less of at BPW and the resounding answer was more club nights. Therefore, as you will see from our Calendar included in this newsletter we have aimed to include a mix of club nights, speakers and special events. This also gives opportunity for those on the Key’s to Achievement programme to participate, speak or facilitate sessions and sign off another of their goals. For our February meeting, besides our lovely speaker Belinda (see below), we are calling a special general meeting to pass our budget and go over financials. It is also Red Bag day – which symbolises our fight for equal pay for equal work, so bring your red bags or wear red for the night. A reminder that we have the next session of BPW Aotearoa coming up on the 17th February at 7:30pm. Many of you will remember Dr Joanna Breare when she came to speak at our club last year and she was fantastic. She is focusing on negotiations and difficult conversations, something I am sure we can all do with knowing more about in our lives. Remember to register before the session and PLEASE PLEASE send the info out to anyone you know who might like to attend this event. I look forward to seeing you all at the February meeting on 21st February and getting stuck into all things BPW for the year. To view the full newsletter click here...
