Tena kotoe Katoa,
Welcome to June everyone! The heaters and fires have definitely been turned on now! This month we are celebrating World Milk day with our June guest speaker Donna Cram who was named Fonterra Dairy Woman of the Year for 2023. I am sure Donna will have lots to share so please invite a friend along to join us for dinner and speaker. Our Women’s Education Scholarship will also be open for applications this month, and we are really keen to spread the word, given we did not award this last year. Our wine fundraiser will also launch this month so check your stash at home and get ready to order. With Rebecca stepping up into a national role we are also looking for help for a dinner convenor. The role involves sending out and collating the dinner invite and returned acceptance, liaising with the caterer for numbers and setting up the dinner list for hostesses. If you would like to help out the committee please let us know. Our Meet the Candidate’s night planning is coming along well, so please save the date of 28th September to either come along or help out. Also check out this post with our very own Celine Filbee, talking about the work of the Taranaki Kiwi Trusthttps://fb.watch/kZilzTPBE1/?mibextid=Nif5oz . Awesome Celine! On a final note this came up in a Linked In post for The Female Lead and is a good reminder of unconscious use of self minimising or softer language in the workplace with research suggesting women employ this more and are more likely to apologise unnecessarily too.
