Welcome to another year at BPW! It has already been a destructive start to the year weather wise and our thoughts go out to all our BPW clubs and members affected. We have sent messages out to them with our thoughts and Rebecca has shared options for us to contribute to support families and people that have lost so much if you wish. If there is anything I know however it is that New Zealanders are a resilient group who pull together when needed so I know like everything else that has been thrown at us over the last few years, people will rise out of this. Our executive met at the end of January for a planning meeting and we have another exciting year ahead. We will ensure we keep the calendar up to date with confirmed speakers but also please let us know if there are any exciting speakers or guests you would like us to contact. Keep your eye out for our High Tea at Tairoa information, to be held on Sunday 19th March. I know we will all be excited to head back to Tairoa and gather with our BPW team, family and friends. This month we welcome Mary Bourke to our meeting at the Hawera club who many of you will know from her time as Mayor. Mary will talk through her leadership journey and I am sure will have many interesting stories to share from her life. With BPW conference coming up at the end of April in Kaitaia we need to arrange for three delegates from our club to attend. There is some funding available for travel and we have a number of members interested in attending but please if you wish to go let us know ASAP before we confirm final attendees. We look forward to seeing you all again at the Hawera Club on Monday, where we will have a new caterer to try as well Don’t forget to bring your Red Bag for supporting equal pay day.
