Marissa's Message Tēnā koutou katoa,
Welcome to March all! As per usual the months are flying by and we are heading ever close to the Gisborne conference. Please let us know if you are interested in attending as an observe or delegate so that we can put our applications in ASAP. BPW Hawera will look to fund registrations for our observers and delegates. Whilst we are in Gisborne we will also be dropping off old prescription glasses which are collected and sent overseas by a Gisborne member so if you could please bring any in you have before May that would be appreciated. This month we will be discussing the resolutions for conference which you all should have received and I hope you have the time to review before our meeting. To celebrate International Women’s Day we will be also joined by Helen Swales via zoom to discuss her work with BPW International. Although we would love to see you all at the dinner meeting we recognise that with Omicron happening in our community this may be tricky for some so you will still be able to join via zoom for Helen’s session. We are keen to run an Easter raffle fundraiser to support our scholarship so if you could bring something in for the raffle that would be great. As my garden is pretty bountiful at the moment I am sure others are too so if you would like to bring in crop swap too that would be great. We are also seeking items for our gift packs for guests. This is a good way to advertise businesses and just needs to be simple, some examples in the past were seed tape or chocolate stapled to business cards, pens with logo or little notebooks etc. I look forward to seeing you all in person or virtually next week.
