Welcome everyone to April 2020 I hope you are all surviving lockdown.
Last month we celebrated International Women’s Day with guest speaker Mary Linnell from BPW Darwin. Some of us met Mary at last year’s BPWNZ national conference and we thought you would enjoy meeting her to. Mary was such an inspiring speaker with her journey to success, like many great people she started at the very bottom and worked her way up. She can be found on facebook so please look her up; she loves BPW as much as we do. The BPWNZ National Conference for 2020 is open for registrations, if you are interested in joining the Zoom conference then please get your forms to me or send direct to BPWNZ and cc me in please. The deadline for registration and the raffle tickets is the 24th of April. If small groups are allowed to meet in May then it might be possible for us to gather together for the zoom conference but we will have to wait and see. There is plenty still happening in BPW and I am happy to let you all know that we have just received our official twinning certificate with BPW Denver. Our online ceremony will be on May the 14th at lunch time. If things go well then we will be able to gather together for this ceremony but if not we will make sure there is a secure way that everyone can join this wonderful event. Congratulations to Tara Hogan for taking on the BPW Hawera Treasurer role we know you will be amazing and we are very grateful. Thank you to Meredith Pick for all of your hard work over the past years, we appreciate everything you have done for our club and for the support you have given and continue to give us, you will be missed at our executive meetings. I would also like to thank Anna Hornby for her time as club Secretary. You have supported our club with many tasks during your time on the executive, notably the Meet the Candidate’s evening and all the work you have done behind the scenes, you will be missed. At this stage we do not have a replacement for the club Secretary role so if you would like to know more then please contact me with you interest. BPWNZ have their normal newsletter and issues bulletin coming out and if you have missed it you can find current and back issues on their website. This year is also the BPW International Congress in Orlando, Florida, USA on the 21st to the 25th of August 2020. We are unsure of how this will proceed at this stage. View Full Newsletter Here...
