BPW Hawera and BPW Denver Twinning Ceremony
Dear BPW Sisters,
It is with great pleasure that BPW Hawera New Zealand and BPW Denver USA will be officially twinning on the 14th of May 2020.
The collect which will be recited during the ceremony can be found below:
Please find a candle to light in solidarity and connection for our official Twinning Ceremony.
Alternative version of the International Collect, which was adopted at the XXVI Congress in Mexico City.
READ TOGETHER: We ask… That we meet together as women, not allowing beliefs, religion, nationality, ethnicity or language to come between us.
That these meetings enable us to move forward and advance the status of women throughout the world.
That the value of women be recognized in our families, our communities, our workplaces, our country and the world.
That we use our good ideas, our knowledge, our experience to promote the worth of women.
That we combine our strengths to move forward in peace, in serenity and in love.
That women of all generations will do their part to achieve harmony and equality among all human beings.

Founding President Dr Lena Madesin Phillips said:
"Each woman, as a citizen, must bring to the national policy of her own country, the contribution of forward-looking and constructive thought followed by determined action. Each woman must dedicate herself to protect and promote the interests of all other women in business and in the professions." So what is twinning? Twinning is when a BPW club connects with another one with a Twinning Charter. In the charter the two clubs agree to pursue some common interests, common goals and build a closer relationship between them. BPW Hawera and BPW Denver believe in encouraging fellowship amongst women and supporting each other to achieve equality for all women through shared ideals and common goals. |
