Marissa's Message Tēnā koutou katoa,
Welcome to my first newsletter as President of BPW Hawera. Can you believe it’s November already? We have had a great year at BPW Hawera, and I know there will be lots more inspiration, networking, fun, learning and exciting challenges ahead for us in the coming year. I would just like to acknowledge again all the work that Desiree has done for BPW Hawera over the last 3 years and all the support she has given and will give me as new President. I am also excited to work with our new executive team who bring a great mix of skills to continue to support us being the best club in NZ! I really like to work in a team and also ensure that our members have a voice and we are providing what they want out of the club and BPW. I hope you are all looking forward to our December dinner meeting which has been brought forward to the second Monday in December, the 13th. We will forward out a Flyer soon for our pre-Christmas dinner meeting, but our exciting night will feature cocktails, mocktail and of course yummy food and great company. Remember partners are welcome and we will also be holding another local business voucher Kris Kringle/present swap if you would like to participate. Our education scholarship has now closed, and we are interviewing applicants and hope to make the announcement of the successful candidate at the November Meeting. Submission of resolutions also closes on December 1st so if you would like to submit a resolution please get in touch ASAP. For our November meeting the theme is White Ribbon, standing up against violence towards women and we will be collecting for women’s refuge. They would appreciate petrol vouchers, children’s Christmas presents, and nonperishable food items if you would like to bring along a donation. Our exciting guest speaker for November Dinner is Justine Olckers, whose details are below, and I hope to see you all there. Please do not forget to RSVP to Rebecca who is the new Dinner Convener. See you on the 15th and if not have a great month! To view the full newsletter click here....
