Tena koto katoa,
Can anyone believe that Christmas is just around the corner? This month has flown by again but I would just like to start by thanking everyone for allowing myself and the returning executive to continue the privilege of being your BPW Hawera executive team. Also welcome to Anita Scott as our Vice President who is able to share her passion and knowledge of BPW with us and continue to drive to keep us the best club in NZ! At this month's meeting, we will be hearing from the team at Te Pae Pae o Aotea, the new intermediate/high school in town, run by our very own Rachel Williams. I know you will give them a warm welcome and please feel free to invite as many guests as you would like for dinner and the discussion session. As this month is White Ribbon Month, we will also be collecting again for Women’s refuge. They really appreciated our donations last year which included food, petrol and other vouchers, with toiletries for adults and children also appreciated. We will collect at the dinner meeting but you can also drop off items to Rebecca Treeby at the Vets. Following on from AGM, a small sub-committee met to review financials and budgets and you will be receiving correspondence soon on this for sign-off of these, so please keep your eye out and respond. As I mentioned Christmas is around the corner so just a heads up that our Christmas dinner will be on the second Monday in December, the 12th, at the Hawera Club. Partners, guests, past members and really everyone is welcome. We will be having a yummy Christmas-themed dinner and some entertaining games on the night. We will be running a Christmas local voucher swap again. Rebecca and I attended the BPW regional forum online last week so we will also provide an update on this at our dinner. I look forward to seeing everyone again at dinner and continuing as your President. Marissa Cope President BPW Hawera To view the full newsletter click here...
