Well can you believe it’s October again and we are heading into AGM. This will be my last newsletter as President after my two year term. I will remain on the committee as immediate past President and supporting the new president and the committee in continuing facilitate our amazing club. Thank you to the current committee for all their support and thank you to our members who I have been proud to represent. I would also like to thank Kay Legge and Angelika Fowlie who will not be standing again for committee for all their work and support for the club. Nominations will still be open at AGM if you would like to join us on the committee. Also a big thank you to the organising committee and team who facilitated the meet the candidates night. Also thanks to the Hawera and Normanby Lions for the great venue and support. We had a great turn out and asked some really great questions to learn about what each candidate will bring to our electorate and their party to the nation. Don’t forget to exercise your right to vote which our suffragettes fought for 130 years ago. Our financial info and budget will be sent out shortly for you to review prior to AGM which will again be held at Someday. I know that everyone had a great meal and night for September so looking forward to a lovely dinner and some fun games (as well AGM of course) on the 16th. We will also be welcoming our club liaison Siobhan Dilly - Vice President issues to our October dinner. Speaking of issues, we are looking for a member to be club representative on the issues taskforce, so please have a chat with Siobhan and the committee if you are interested. As many of you know we have won a number of BPW NZ awards for our club. They are currently reviewing the programme and awards and I would just like to do a special shout out and thank you to Helen for all the work she has done for the awards committee over many years. Finally just a couple of reminders - to wear pink on Monday in support of breast cancer awareness month and we will also have a collection for the breast cancer foundation on the night and to remember to register for the BPW NZ leadership forum on the 29th October.
